Mentored in journalism and radio journalism while completing her English Literature and history degree, at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, USA, she had been writing for the local newspaper and contributing art articles and book reviews as freelancer for the area magazines. Following the suggestion of a literature professor she started to take art courses,
her passion being art since the age of 5. Studying printmaking and drawing, lead to experimental art and alternative photography methods allowing her to create unique pieces combining such different practices. Lara started to exhibit in group shows internationally in 2016. Her work has been exhibited in New York , Melbourne, Australia, with the Los Angeles printmakers and at the Arsenale in Venice, Italy, in 2019 during a printmaking residency at the Scuola Grafica in Venice. Some of her work has appeared in publications like the MidAmerican Print Council and the Australian Print Council magazine and two history books based in Montana, Usa.

There is a sense of levity, fragrance and mysticism in the flower pieces Lara has created For BeWall. Feather-like sensuous volumes of petals that seem to almost exude moist. These flowers are inspired by her father’s greenhouses and the flora of the foggy San Francisco Bay Area that she loves. In stark contraposition are the other pieces : solid, granitic and the result of printmaking-press collagraphs combined to digital. “Alvise” partly a screen-print, is inspired by Venetian tapestries.
